SUMMARY OF POSITION

The County of Monterey Health Department’s Public Health Bureau has an opening for a full time Community Service Aide III (CSA III) in the California Children’s Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Program (MTP). The CSA III assists professional personnel (physicians, physical and occupational therapists) in the delivery of public health services in health clinics and in the field. They are expected to independently perform a full range of duties in both direct and indirect patient care and support, provide Spanish/English translation, and assist in a team concept for the delivery of services to patients and their families. In the CCS MTP, the CSA III works closely with physical and occupational therapists in the delivery of therapy services to children with special needs, as well as maintains the organization and hygiene of the therapy clinic and completes clerical duties necessary to support program operation. The position requires Spanish/English translation as needed for all activities.

The Eligible List established by this recruitment process will be used to fill current and future vacancies, both regular and temporary, as they arise.

This classification is part of a flexible series. Incumbents appointed at the lower level of the career series may be promoted up to the higher level of the career series subject to their meeting the employment standards for the higher class and a recommendation for their promotion by the appointing authority in accordance with the Flexible Staffing Program and Guidelines.
