E-Discovery Unit Intern (Unpaid)

The mission of Orange County Information Technology (OCIT) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support County departments in delivering quality public services. OCIT provides IT solutions across County departments for voice communications, network services, application support, service desk, desktop support, as well as data center services.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Intern will assist staff in the day-to day activities within the Cybersecurity unit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This recruitment is open to the public who are currently enrolled in an accredited community college/university and must be enrolled in major coursework in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity or a closely related field that has provided the candidate with a foundational understanding of information technology concepts. Recent (within 6 months) graduates who have completed their degree in one of the above fields are also eligible to apply.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifying individual will need to have a knowledge and understanding of:
TIME COMMITMENT
Interns will work during regular business hours in the OCIT office, approximately 20 hours per week for a period of 6 months to 1 year, depending on school schedule and workload. Note: this is not a remote internship

REQUIRED BACKGROUND SCREENING/REFERENCE CHECK
Applicants will be required to pass the background check to the satisfaction of the hiring Agency/Department. All selected applicants will also be required to answer a conviction questionnaire as part of the selection process. A clean driving record is required while employed in order to maintain a driver’s license. For positions with the Probation Department, candidates will be required to pass a background investigation which consists of, but is not limited to, a review of employment history, professional references, and criminal conduct including the use of controlled.
