Position DescriptionThe ideal individual will serve as the head of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and provide a mix of direct clinical care, clinical administrative and QA/QI activities, didactic and bedside teaching for students, residents and fellows, and participate in, or support, research initiatives. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions- Lead the division while ensuring collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics;
- Foster an environment of teamwork, respect and professionalism with the faculty, staff, and students;
- Provide clinical care through ambulatory clinics and inpatient services, including call schedule participation;
- Provide bedside teaching of residents, students and fellows while on clinical service and also participate in didactic instruction; and
- Develop scholarly activity and serve as mentor to researchers in the division.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- Medical Doctor Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.);
- Board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology;
- Eligible for medical license in Texas; and
- Leadership experience.
