Job Description:
Engagement Coordinator
Description
OverviewMake a Difference in How We Connect with Our Community!
Join the Public Affairs team at Larimer County in a meaningful role that helps bridge the gap between local government and the people we serve. We’re looking for an Engagement Coordinator who is passionate about building genuine connections, encouraging civic engagement, and fostering public trust.
In this role, you’ll help bring our countywide engagement strategy to life. This involves planning community events, maintaining strong partnerships, managing outreach tools, and coordinating efforts across departments and with local organizations.
This is a hybrid role; you’ll split your time between working remotely, in the office, and out in the community. While most weeks follow a Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. schedule, we know that community events don’t always happen during office hours. Some evenings or weekends may be needed, but we’ll always give you advance notice and flexibility to make it work.
If you’re energized by community work and want to help make local government more accessible and responsive, we’d love to hear from you.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Building and maintaining strong, proactive relationships with community organizations and local stakeholders
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for the County to participate in community events and public gatherings
- Supporting the planning, promotion, and execution of educational events and outreach activities
- Managing calendars, digital platforms, and informational tools that support community engagement efforts
- Coordinating timely communication and event updates for elected officials and department staff
- Collaborating across departments to align and strengthen community outreach initiatives
- Gathering and sharing feedback, tracking participation trends, and providing insights from community interactions

- Confidence in public communication, both in person and through digital platforms
- Cultural awareness and the ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented team player who aligns with the mission and values of Larimer County
QualificationsTo move forward in the hiring process, candidates must meet the required minimum qualifications. That said, we encourage you to think about your unique background and skills before applying. People often underestimate how their experiences match up with a role’s needs. We encourage you to apply if you meet the minimum qualifications and believe your skills and perspective can add value to this position.
- Three (3) years experience working with design programs, such as Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or in public engagement and outreach work required.
- Four (4) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
