The JobThe
San Bernardino County Department of Public Works, Transportation Division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to serve as a
Supervising Public Works Analyst*. This position oversees the Funding Management section within the Transportation Planning Division and is responsible for a variety of planning functions, including transportation-related development mitigation fee programs, grant applications, legislative analysis, federal and regional transportation plans, and coordination with other transportation agencies. Key duties include supervising, evaluating, and assigning work of subordinate staff; participating in hiring and disciplinary actions; developing and conducting training programs; coordinating major updates to the County's transportation development mitigation plans; serving as a liaison with Caltrans Local Assistance and SANBAG; developing, negotiating, and monitoring cooperative contracts and agreements with cities for joint road projects; participating in planning studies; and preparing responses to inquiries regarding the County Maintained Road System.

Minimum Requirements Candidates must meet the following experience and education requirements: Experience: Three (3) years of professional level analysis experience which includes a combination of any of the following: planning, project programming, grant writing, funding administration, budgets, and legislative analysis.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication and team-building skills. They are well versed in budget preparation, tracking of expenditures, and have the ability to develop strong inter-organizational relationships for coordination of funding administration. They will have the ability to plan and coordinate the work of subordinate staff and have professional level experience in planning and programming of projects and their funding.
