Scale House Attendant (4 Day Work Week) at the
South Wake Landfill scale house. As a vital member of the Solid Waste team, you'll operate weight-based software, assist customers both in person and by phone, and help keep operations running smoothly.

About Our TeamWake County Solid Waste scale houses are responsible for measuring over 500,000 tons of waste each year resulting in over $22 million dollars in payments from municipalities and vendors. Our team works collaboratively to accurately weigh in and weigh out haulers, treats our customers with respect and integrity, and strives for excellence in supporting our Solid Waste team at the scale house locations.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school diploma or GED
- No specific experience required
- USDA Weightmaster Certificate within 90 days of employment
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Scale house experience or equivalent experience
- Solid Waste industry experience
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Communication skills to convey information effectively (oral, written)
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel (spreadsheet creation/maintenance, basic formula functions

Work Schedule: Mon-Sat, 10 hour shift, rotating 4 days a week
Hiring Range: 24.37 - 26.51
Market Range: 24.37 - 28.65
