Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on laundry equipment.
Plans the operation of a large laundry and assigns work to meet production schedules; may also direct a dry cleaning unit
Supervises, evaluates, and trains staff, and/or resident or offender workers performing laundry work
Determines proper washing formulas; conducts bacteria control and related tests; performs minor repairs and adjustments to laundry equipment; supervises maintenance of laundry equipment; estimates production costs; prepares production and operational reports
Requisitions supplies and materials required for the operation of the laundry; monitors linen usage; ensures adequate quantities of linen supplies are maintained within the facility; observes and inspects the laundry process for adherence to safety and sanitation standards
Develops and reviews policies and procedures for the provision of laundry services; receives general administrative direction; work is reviewed through results obtained and efficiency of operation; performs other related work as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Three or more years of experience relevant/similar to the above listed job duties; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
OR
Three or more years of experience as Maintenance/Grounds Technician (Maintenance Worker), Stores/Warehouse Associate, or Food Service Supervisor within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
