The Department:

The Purchasing Division of the Department of Finance is hiring a Materials Handler for its Utility Warehouse. The department is looking for experience related to warehouse materials management and receiving deliveries with an emphasis in computerized inventory management system.

The Position:

The Materials Handler is an entry-level position at the purchasing warehouse or the electric utility warehouse. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for receiving, storing, shipping, and distributing materials, equipment and products to City staff.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,547.00 - $103,113.12. This position may be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education Requirements:

Graduation from high school or its equivalent.

Minimum Experience Requirements:
One (1) year of paid experience in inventory control and warehouse operations.

License/Certifications:

Possession of an appropriate California driver’s license issued is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience operating a forklift is desirable.

Candidates must attain a passing score on each phase of the examination process to qualify for the Eligible List. A department interview may be required prior to appointment.
