Contra Costa County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking talented and motivated individuals to fill one (1) full-time Child Support Services Manager vacancy located in Martinez, CA! The Department has received multiple program awards for their hard work and outstanding achievements within the program and are looking for someone who will continue this standard of excellence on our team .
This role is involved in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and strategic goal planning . As a member of the Department's management team , y ou will need to work collaboratively with all the DCSS units, the public , and other government agencies. S uccess in this role is measured by the success of your team and your willingness to be a service-oriented leader .

- Guiding and advising staff on complex child support cases

- Analyzing data from multiple sources to assess relevance and accuracy
- Conducting assessments to determine organizational progress in meeting priorities and goals
- Assisting in maintaining the departmental budget

Minimum QualificationsLicense Required: Candidates must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's will be accepted during the application process.
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public or business administration or a closely related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of full time, or its equivalent, of child support operational experience in child support enforcement programs, two (2) years of the required experience, must have been at a supervisory or management level.
Substitution for education: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Other Requirements: All appointees to this class must be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background check.
Selection Process1.
Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

Online Virtual Interview: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online interview. In the oral interview, candidates must achieve an overall passing score of 70% or higher. The interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Departmental Fiscal Officer position. The assessment will measure the following competencies:
Displaying Ownership and Accountability, Handling Stress, Professional Integrity and Ethics, Building and Maintaining Relationships, and Driving Results.
(Weighted 100%) The Online Assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place via computer (remotely) between September 24-28, 2025.
The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
