Contra Costa County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking talented and motivated individuals to fill one (1) full-time Child Support Services Manager vacancy located in Martinez, CA! This role is involved in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and strategic goal planning . Minimum Qualifications

License Required: Candidates must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's will be accepted during the application process.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public or business administration or a closely related field.

Experience: Four (4) years of full time, or its equivalent, of child support operational experience in child support enforcement programs, two (2) years of the required experience, must have been at a supervisory or management level.

Substitution for education: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.

Other Requirements: All appointees to this class must be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background check.

Selection Process

1. Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

2. Online Virtual Interview: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online interview. In the oral interview, candidates must achieve an overall passing score of 70% or higher. The interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Departmental Fiscal Officer position. The assessment will measure the following competencies:
Displaying Ownership and Accountability, Handling Stress, Professional Integrity and Ethics, Building and Maintaining Relationships, and Driving Results. (Weighted 100%)

The Online Assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place via computer (remotely) between September 24-28, 2025.


The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY

After you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
