Description
ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Safety and Security Manager position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Serving as the chief liaison with outside agencies to include regulatory, law enforcement, and fire department; including special events coordination for regional participation of associated agencies related to security, safety and emergency management activities.
- Managing the programmatic areas for Safety, Security and Emergency Management to include staff, planning and prevention activities.
- Reviewing goals, objectives, policies and priorities related to Security to comply with the Department of Homeland Security critical infrastructure requirements and make recommendations.
- Working with management and staff requests for emergency response, safety concerns and safety training programs.
- Leading staff in adopting best practices and to identify trends in both Safety & Security to mitigate issues when identified trends are noted.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring strategic planning, goals and objectives; Overseeing the development and revision for policies, procedures, and administering the budget in coordination with these activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience:- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Criminal Justice preferred, or other field related to the work.
- Five (5) years full-time experience at a major wastewater treatment facility, or in an industrial setting preferred.
- Two (2) years of full-time supervisory or management level experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:- Possess a valid Nevada Class [C] driver's license at time of appointment.
Background Investigation: - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: - Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
