Maintenance Worker Leader

Purpose:

Under general supervision, this position performs building maintenance services on City facilities and acts in a lead capacity over other Building Maintenance personnel.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:

Train and lead employees. Supervise work unit in absence of supervisor.

The Austin Public Library is looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Worker Leader to join our Facilities Services Division. In this leadership role, you will oversee and coordinate the work of building maintenance personnel, ensuring that our library facilities are well-maintained and functional.

Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections to identify maintenance needs and performing a variety of maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and machine repair. Additionally, this position will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.

Salary Range :

$23.76 - $27.32

Hours and Schedule :

Full Time/40 hours per week

NOTE: Hours and schedule may vary based on operational and business needs, which may include working evenings, weekends, city emergencies, and holidays.
