General

The Information Technology (IT) Computer Support Representative reports to the Manager, IT OperationsandTelecommunicationsandprovidesITsystemsandsoftwaresupportfortheSan Mateo County Transit (SamTrans), Peninsula Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA).

Essential Functions & Duties

• Provide Help Desk support for all IT systems and software
• Troubleshoot problems with computer hardware and desktop software, photocopiers, and printers
• Provide installation, configuration and conduct routine audits of hardware and software.

Examples of Essential Duties:

• Support the application of operating system updates and configuration changes.
• Perform backup, proactively test system and infrastructure performance.
• Evaluate and test new technology products.
• Monitor IT systems and infrastructure
• Create, monitor, document and update trouble tickets using Track-it Help Desk software.
• Document Help Desk requests and steps taken to final resolution.
• Assist in researching alternatives for procuring new systems hardware and software.
• Route non-routine requests to second tier support.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees and the public from injury or harm. Promotes safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Two (2) years of Help Desk support experience including supporting remote workstations (desktops/laptops) and mobile devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Effective written and verbal communications skills.

Salary:

$69,089.00 - $105,449.00 Annually
