Description
Substitute Registered Nurse, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) What you’ll do: - Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings.
- Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures.
- Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection-control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in-service as needed.
- Administer medication and other health care procedures.
- Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
- Oversee all SHCP. Make sure they are completed correctly, and all necessary supplies are available. Notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
- Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
- Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information.
All you need for success: - Licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri.
- Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities.
*The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.
