Purpose:

Under minimal supervision, perform installation and maintenance activities for all Electric Utility communications, relaying, measurement, monitoring and control equipment installed and associated with the operation of the Energy Control Center and the Electric Energy Delivery System.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Engineering, Electronics, or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years' experience related to installation and maintenance of electronic communications, computer and peripheral equipment or control and instrumentation equipment. Experience may substitute for education up to two (2) years.

Notes to Candidate:

Under minimal supervision, the (SCADA) Power Control System Technician III position provides support for the real-time SCADA EMS and ADMS systems on a 24×7 basis. SCADA Technicians will work on Capital Improvement Projects, substation RTU and RTAC equipment, data concentrator configurations, system enhancements, upgrades, system issues, cyber security, and network infrastructure related to SCADA/EMS and ADMS systems. This position requires strategic thinking, organization, and action planning.

PAY RANGE:
Min. $38.32 - Mid. $48.67

HOURS/LOCATION:
SCC, 2500 Montopolis Drive, Austin, Texas. Typical hours are 6:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. Schedule may vary depending on business needs. Work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekends. Shifts may change according to departmental needs. Employee may be required to work additional hours outside of regular work schedule.
