An Engineer in Training job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department Stormwater Management Division. This division is responsible for protecting people and property from harmful stormwater runoff by maintaining the City's existing stormwater infrastructure, mitigating hazards through capital projects, warning residents about the hazards and reviewing development for compliance with City standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
• The possession of registration as an Engineering-In-Training in the State of Texas; or, if licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as an Engineering-In-Training within the State of Texas within six months of employment
• Valid Texas driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and certification with CCTV inspection standards (e.g., NASSCO PACP/MACP)
• Experience in contract administration and budget tracking.
• Proficiency in GIS applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn asset management software.

The Engineer in Training job responsibilities include:

• Serve as primary point of contact for the Storm Drain Rehabilitation Program. As part of this program, City performs condition assessment of storm drainpipes using CCTV inspections and then reviews them to flag the defects. The defects are then reviewed to provide recommendations for the potential projects for operations and capital delivery team.
• Review CCTV inspection videos and reports prepared by the in-house Operations Team, Stormwater Development Services, and Capital Delivery Team.
• Oversee and administer the Reactive CCTV Inspection Contract, ensuring quality deliverables, timely performance, and compliance with City standards.
• Monitor and track the contract budget, including expenditures and forecasting.
• Conduct post-inspection reviews of videos and data to ensure accuracy to make sure the start and end points are correct and the inspection reflects the correct asset and other elements.
• Relay inspection findings to the consultant to provide recommendations to Operations and Capital team based on the type of defect, including recommendations for cleaning, maintenance, or addressing missing access points.
• Support process improvements, best practices, and standardization of inspection review procedures and contribute to long-term planning strategies for storm drain rehabilitation.
