ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Fire Department's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is seeking qualified candidates for a Management Analyst I/II position. This role involves supporting emergency management functions to ensure community and employee preparedness for disasters through training, exercises, and professional development. Candidates must demonstrate strong commitment to timely task completion, handle stress professionally, and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Adaptability to changing assignments and priorities, a positive approach to change, and maintaining trust in interactions are essential. The role may require long, vigorous work hours and a dedication to ongoing professional growth, including attending conferences and applying best practices in emergency management. Effective communication skills are required to present information clearly, facilitate workshops, and manage group processes.

This position is grant funded. This grant-funded position may end if funding is not secured. Typical hours are Tuesday through Friday, but activation for the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) may be required during large events or emergencies. During activation, work hours and duties may change entirely, requiring full-time commitment until demobilization. Occasionally, the schedule may also flex to nights, weekends, or holidays.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Management Analyst I: $32.77 - $48.43 Hourly
Management Analyst II: $35.38 - $52.32 Hourly


The Management Analyst I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Management Analyst II.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Some positions may be Grant Funded. Grant Funded positions are subject to continuation based on availability of grant funds and the employee will be terminated without right of appeal when such funds are no longer available.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

Management Analyst I - Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field. Full-time administrative experience in a field related to the work may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years. An appropriate advanced degree is desirable.

Management Analyst II - In addition to the above: Minimum of one (1) year of full-time professional experience in performing administrative, budgetary, operational or similar analyses and studies. Experience in a public agency setting is desirable.

Working Conditions: Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
