Job Location: 31st Judicial Circuit Court in Greene County
The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure. The applicant hired for this position will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of Probate and must be equipped to be a high functioning team member. Job duties involve working between the Probate office and the courtroom, which require the clerk to be flexible with sudden changes in priorities. Primary duties include case processing of guardianships/conservatorships and frequent interactions with the public, court personnel, attorneys and/or law enforcement agencies.
Requirements For Successful Performance: - Case initiating and processing
- Preparing a variety of court documents that include court orders, judgments, letters, notice of hearings, returns, service verification prior to hearings, court appearances, notification of required documents, and annual status and/or settlement reports
- Review of legal documents as they apply in Probate cases for required filing information
- Review and application of statutes, petitions, court orders, and court documentation for all minor guardianships and conservatorships during the course of administration of estates
- Case calendar management
- Courtroom docketing with case scheduling
- Operating sound recording equipment for court hearings and trials
- Answering court related inquiries by phone, email, and in person without providing legal advice
- Performing other duties as assigned or when required
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning and two years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Four years of administrative experience of varied related experience may substitute for associate degree.

Preferred Qualifications - Advanced knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court
- Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports from an automated system
- Ability to effectively work when under pressure and in a fast-paced work environment
- Flexibility to adapt to unforeseen changes in work assignments and priorities
- Proficiency in data entry with attention to detail
- Exercising independent judgment in accordance with general policies and objectives
- Effectively prioritizing workload to ensure compliance with time standards and deadlines
- Demonstrating a strong commitment and dedication to the individual position, the Probate team, and the judicial circuit
- Communicating effectively, professionally, and appropriately with others
- Possessing a good attendance record with punctual arrival
