Position Description
Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Major/Essential Functions

Respond to patient inquiries.
Verify patient benefits and follow up.
Obtain referrals/Verify insurance and schedules.
Corresponds with patients on the status of the pre-certification process.
Obtain pre-certification for procedures and surgeries for all ENT patients, Neuro/Radiology; Document information accurately in Centricity.
Schedule patients for surgical procedures to include picking a surgery date, scheduling an anesthesia assessment, educating the patient/family on preop and postop care and scheduling a clinic apt for follow-up.
Posting surgeries to the hospital website and ensuring orders and consent are faxed to Outpatient Surgery and managed care.
Obtaining surgery clearances for patients.

Required Qualifications
High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
