The Position

The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of Senior Office Specialist to fill multiple vacancies and establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
Current vacancies include, but are not limited to:
Senior Office Specialist, Purchasing Division, Finance Department

Senior Office Specialist, Parking Services Division, Public Works Department

Senior Office Specialist, Sewer Administration Division, Public Works Department

The City is seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented professional(s) who thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate(s) will be an excellent multi-tasker, capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. The position requires strong communication skills, as they will interact frequently with customers and vendors, resolving issues, handling calls and emails and addressing concerns with empathy and efficiency.

The Senior Office Specialist performs a variety of specialized, skilled, and lead office and administrative support duties associated with various department and position assigned. Provides support and skilled office work for a variety of departments and situations; and to do related work as required.

Qualifications

Recruitment Guidelines:

Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).

Experience: Three (3) years of general administrative support experience.

Licenses and Certifications: Demonstrated proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Word.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions : Work is done in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

An equivalency statement from an evaluation company certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at https://naces.org/members/ or the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc.
