Classification Salary Range: $6,382 - $9,297 per month

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $6,382 (step 1) - $7,046 (step 6) per month.

The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

As part of the University Advancement team, the Office of Government and Community Relations coordinates the university’s legislative and advocacy efforts at the federal, state, and local levels.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of External Relations, the Government and Community Relations Regional Officer is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including nonprofit organizations, the campus community, and may assist with local elected officials on behalf of the university. The incumbent designs and executes a range of initiatives that promote, elevate, and enhance the visibility of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). The incumbent develops outreach strategies at both the local and regional levels, implementing engagement programs, partnership initiatives, special events, community meetings, and assists with government advocacy that align with university priorities and foster support among community leaders and other external partners. Additionally, the incumbent may inform the Vice President of University Advancement, the Associate Vice President of External Relations, and other university leadership on key issues, initiatives, and opportunities that advance CSUDH’s mission in the areas of community engagement and public outreach.

In accordance with Assembly Bill 963 (2020), the incumbent will serve as the primary lead on the university's civic engagement committee and voter engagement activities. The incumbent will lead the university's voter engagement committee and work with systemwide plans for all major elections as the civic and voter empower coordinator for the campus.

Incumbent will be expected to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Golf cart operation may be required.
