Accounts Assistant Job Location: Fulton State Hospital - Accounting Office, 600 East Fifth Street, Fulton, MO 65251

What you’ll do: There are multiple Account Assistant positions within the Accounting Department. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial to all positions.
Patient Accounts is responsible for maintaining and reconciling consumer and program accounts between the two internal accounting systems. Log and balance incoming funds, withdrawal funds for consumer and program expenditures, resolve any discrepancies, balance accounts daily and prepare bank deposits. Team members also monitor phone calls from consumers regarding their account balance and maintain the filing and scanning.
Payroll is responsible for employee and consumer payroll. This position works with various departments and staff to answer questions regarding payroll and resolve payroll issues as well as processing documents in a timely manner for payroll to run correctly. Knowledge of SAMII and payroll experience is beneficial for staff in this department.
Accounts Payable is responsible for the coding and processing of hospital invoices in a timely manner using SAMII Financial and Missouri Buys. Works closely with Materials Management staff to verify required documents are submitted prior to processing payments. Payment processing requires someone with attention to detail, organization, and handling a fast paced workload.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In addition to the minimum qualifications listed below a successful candidate should have the basic knowledge of research methods related to financial transactions and the ability to identify and resolve transactional issues. Team member should demonstrate excellent communication, planning, organization skills and the ability to problem solve.
Minimum Qualifications: - Must have satisfactory performance, no written reprimands within the past 6 months, and no other disciplinary actions during the past 12 months.
- Adheres to the safety and security policies for the hospital.
- Embraces the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and shows respect daily.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in banking, balancing accounts, accounts payable, payroll or similar experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAMII HR and/or Financial, and Missouri Buys
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed)
