Role Description:

The Regional Office Assistant Director is responsible for leading the Community Operations programs for the Saint Louis Regional Office. This role oversees state Support Coordination teams and is responsible for the day-to day functions for the Regional Office. This position may represent the Division on behalf of the Regional Office Director as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Promote and maintain positive working relationships with staff and community stakeholders including but not limited to:

a. Individuals served by the Division

b. All State of Missouri Agencies

c. Private, Targeted Case Management entities

d. Contracted Division Service Providers

e. Department State Operated Facilities

f. Public Administrators and other legally responsible persons

g. Hospitals and Community Behavioral Health Clinics

2. Participate in professional and staff development

3. Enforce regulatory requirements

4. Approve and/or deny Division service requests

5. Travel to Jefferson City or other parts of the state as needed for meetings.

6. Keep Division leadership apprised of the status and needs of the region.

7. Attend and/or testify on behalf of the Division concerning appeals for eligibility and Division services.

8. Perform work autonomously and apply critical thinking skills

b. Monitor employee assignments to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance.

c. Recommends training for staff of new processes and enhancements.

d. Review, submit, and approve all timesheets by established deadlines.

e. Meet with the Team Members monthly and record meetings in Engage tracking system.

f. Document performance throughout the year and address situations that need to be addressed in a timely fashion.

g. Monitor personnel issues with staff, address sick leave, annual leave, tardiness, and overall work performance.

h. Foster an open environment for the exchange of ideas by being open to differing opinions and ideas.

i. Make timely and consistent decisions and communicate those to staff in a clear manner.

4 or more years of relevant experience and 1-2 years of supervision experience or a bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, or similar programs is preferred.
