Position DescriptionThe Unit Supervisor for Referral Management is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance clinical care quality, operational performance, and regulatory compliance across the academic medical center. Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operations of referral management. Responsible for overseeing the management of incoming and outgoing patient referrals to include radiological studies. Works with community partners/providers, insurance companies, and cross organizational departments throughout the School of Medicine.
Major/Essential Functions- Oversight of Referral Management Process
- Supervising Staff
- Use data-driven strategies to improve clinical workflow, reduce variability, and optimize patient outcomes
- Processing Outgoing Referrals
- Develop protocols to ensure optimization of health care delivery within TTUHSC SOM that prioritize services provided across all three campuses
- Track outgoing referrals from initiation to closure
- Processing Incoming Referrals
- Develop and maintain an internal capability report to socialize with community partners
- Develop processes to accept external referrals
- Insurance authorizations
- Other duties as assigned
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree plus two years of job-related experience; OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal six years.
