ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County District Attorney's Office is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Family Support Specialist I/II position. This position carries a high level of professional responsibility and involves administering and enforcing child and family support obligations in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. This role performs case intake, investigation, financial analysis, negotiation, enforcement, and legal support functions to ensure children receive appropriate financial support. The ideal candidate is an experienced, detail-oriented professional who demonstrates strong interpersonal, investigative, analytical, and legal processing skills, and who is comfortable working with sensitive information, diverse populations, and emotionally charged situations. This position requires the ability to balance customer service, regulatory compliance, and performance-driven outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Family Support Specialist I: $22.33 - $32.96 Hourly
Family Support Specialist II: $24.14 - $35.62 Hourly

The Family Support Specialist I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Family Support Specialist II.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Some positions may be Grant Funded. Grant Funded positions are subject to continuation based on availability of grant funds and the employee will be terminated without right of appeal when such funds are no longer available.

Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation, which may include both a pre-and post-offer background check for positions within the District Attorney’s Office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Family Support Specialist I - Equivalent to graduation from high school AND three (3) years of full-time experience in office or administrative support involving significant public contact. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Family Support Specialist II - In addition to the above: One (1) year of full-time experience establishing, processing and/or enforcing family support obligations.

Working Conditions: Work in potentially violent, traumatic or highly charged emotional environments.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
