THE OPPORTUNITY

OC Public Libraries (OCPL) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve in a Library Manager, Senior position. While future vacancies may include the oversight of the Bibliographic Services operation, the current vacancies are for a Regional Services Manager to provide management oversight for a geographic region composed of 10-12 branch libraries. As a member of the OCPL Administrative Team this manager will: oversee branch operations; supervise branch managers and coordinate activities within the region to ensure system-wide consistency; work within OCPL Administrative Team to develop public services practices and policies; participate in County-wide projects. The position reports directly to the Assistant County Librarian.

The Regional Services Manager duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

The ideal candidate will be an inclusive, collaborative leader with outstanding communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate must be a self-starter who proactively looks for solutions and who has the energy, drive, creativity, flexibility, results-orientation, and tolerance that is necessary to oversee a large, demanding public library and who has had significant successful experience in management and finance including experience in a public sector setting.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Human Resource Services (HRS) will screen applications and supplemental responses for qualifications that meet minimum qualifications, are highly desirable, and are most needed to successfully perform the duties of this job. Structured Oral Interview (SOI) | (Weighted 100%)
Candidates will be interviewed and rated by an oral interview panel of job knowledge experts; rating will be based on responses to a series of structured questions designed to elicit the candidate's qualifications for the job. Only the most successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list.

Based on the Department's needs, the selection procedures listed above may be modified. Candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedures.

Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed, HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
