San Mate County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of
Health Data Services Program Manager - Limited Term to support program coordination, implementation, and ongoing operations within the Health Data Services (HDS) team. This position is anticipated to last until the
end of May 2026. The Health Data Services serves as the data hub for the Health IT team and includes BI, Epic Reporting, Interfacing, Innovaccer, and other analytical tools. The team's scope of work ranges from operational reporting needs to regulatory reporting requirements. The HDS team partners with operational data and reporting teams to ensure reporting and data needs are met organization-wide.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, Program Manager will coordinate and support HDS programs by assisting with planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of services. The position serves as a central point of coordination for program activities, documentation, reporting, and communication, ensuring programs operate efficiently and align with established objectives.
The
ideal candidate will:
- Possesses extensive Epic experience in reporting, dashboards, and finance/ quality metrics.
- Epic Certifications a plus!
- Experience with Epic migration of reporting data and operationalizing standard reporting structures.
- Experience directly working with and communicating with executive leadership.
- Extensive leadership experience with large, multi-faceted teams.
- Experience with California reporting and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage many competing priorities and streamline/ delegate requirements.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and process improvement.
This is a limited term, at-will position. Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan. The eligible list generated from this recruitment may be used to fill future extra-help, term, unclassified, and regular classified vacancies.

Examples Of Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Develop and implement goals and objectives for assigned HDS area(s).
- Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the work of assigned subordinate professional, management, technical, and/or support staff.
- Assist and collaborate with supervisors and participate in the development and implementation of standard work for HDS staff; assign daily work, projects and programs; measure, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of the HDS team and work products.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards and implement corrective actions to assure high quality and measurable performance.
- Anticipate and respond to technology life cycle needs.
- Manage project plans, meetings, and operational requests and assist in priorization, delegation, and analysis.
- Research and prepare comprehensive technical analyses, studies, and reports.
- Oversee and participate in selecting, training, motivating, and evaluating personnel and contractors; recommend and implement personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
- Represent the division in outside groups and organizations; participate in outside community and professional groups and committees, as needed; provide technical assistance as necessary.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
