The Emergency Communications Department (ECD), also known as “9-1-1,” serves as the County’s primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), providing emergency and non-emergency call taking and dispatch services for law enforcement, fire, and allied public safety agencies throughout Monterey County.

The Emergency Communications Supervising Dispatcher is a first-line supervisor responsible for leading and supporting dispatch personnel during assigned shifts, coordinating daily operations on the communications floor, and ensuring the timely and effective delivery of emergency services to the community.

Two (2) years of experience performing duties comparable to the position of Emergency Communications Dispatcher II in the County of Monterey and one (1) year of experience training entry-level employees.
