Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 3:15pm. Ability to work a nontraditional schedule with rotating weekends.

A Field Operations Crewleader job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department - Athletics Maintenance.
The Athletics center of the Park and Recreation Department provides a variety of recreational sport programs and facilities year-round for Fort Worth residents of all ages which help relieve stress, enhance physical conditioning and enhance quality of life. With over 60 high-level competition sports fields maintained serving over 20,000 participants yearly, the Athletics division has been perennially recognized as one of the best in the country for its programs and services.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of responsible experience in field construction, maintenance, repair, or operational activities related to assigned division
- Texas Pesticide Applicator's License
- Valid Class C Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications: - Five (5) years of responsible experience in sports turf and field maintenance, construction, repair, or operational activities related to assigned division.
The Field Operations Crewleader job responsibilities include: - Prioritize, assign, lead, review and participate in the work of subordinate employees responsible for general field operations construction, maintenance, and repair activities
- Identify resources and review needs with appropriate management staff and allocate resources accordingly
- Monitor and evaluate quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness of assigned operation methods and procedures
- Participate in personnel training and work with subordinate personnel to correct deficiencies
- Prepare reports concerning operations and activities and assist in responding and resolving public inquiries and complaints
- Confer with customers regarding problems and provide assistance as needed
- Perform skilled maintenance and horticulture tasks; utilize specialized machines and tools; monitor irrigation and make repairs; apply fertilizers and pesticide and maintain records of applications
- Assist in establishing schedules and methods for providing maintenance; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly
Working Conditions and Physical Demand Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting, depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
