San Mateo County - Health Public Health programs are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Management Analyst to join the Contracts and Procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven professional who is passionate about supporting public health. This position is part of a joint administrative team that supports the County Health divisions of Family Health Services and Public Health, Policy and Planning.

Family Health Services focuses on the health and well-being of infants, children, teens, young adults and parents. Services include well-child check-ups, developmental screenings, support for children with special health needs, parenting classes, home visits, vaccine clinics, lead/asthma assessments, oral public health promotion, health education, tobacco cessation and prevention. Public Health, Policy and Planning protects the health of everyone who lives, works, learns and plays in San Mateo County by preventing the spread of communicable diseases, delivering targeted health care services, providing public health laboratory testing and building communities that make it easy to stay healthy.

The Position

As the Management Analyst - Public Health Programs, you will play a pivotal role in advancing program success by providing strategic oversight, analytical expertise, and operational support across all phases of contract and procurement management. This position ensures that service agreements are compliant with regulations, focused on measurable outcomes, and is strategically aligned with the County's goals and service delivery standards. The position also supports revenue and grant agreements, as well as the procurement of goods, for example purchasing supplies for the Public Health Laboratory.

Working under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Administration and Finance, this role provides technical guidance and functional directions to support staff and may also directly supervise assigned team members. This full-time position follows a Monday-Friday schedule and may offer a hybrid arrangement, with a combination of remote and on-site work which is subject to modification based on County policy and operational needs. The position is currently based in San Mateo.

County Promotional. Only current County of San Mateo or County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified, regular, probationary, extra-help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date may apply.

The examination process will consist of an application screening (pass/fail) based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions. Candidates who pass the application screening will be invited to a panel interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification . All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
