The Position

The Napa County Election Division is accepting applications for the positions of Vote Center Lead and Vote Center Clerk. Multiple positions are available for the May 4, 2026 to June 2, 2026 election season. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may potentially be used for the October 5, 2026 - November 3, 2026 election season.

PAY & BENEFITS:
Please note that the rate of pay for these positions are fixed and is not negotiable per the SEIU MOU. Vote Center Lead Vote Center Clerk ABOUT THE VOTE CENTER:
The County of Napa has nine (9) Vote Centers: Angwin, Calistoga, St. Helena, Napa (2) and American Canyon (2). The Vote Center staff work approximately 50-60 hours total each election and may be assigned to various vote centers at different times during each election cycle to ensure coverage. Training will be conducted selected weekdays with extended hours on certain weekends and Election Day. Additionally,
VOTE CENTER LEAD: performs the most difficult and responsible duties, including conducting research and problem resolution, which requires specialized knowledge. The Vote Center Lead is required to perform all duties and responsibilities for multiple functional areas of the Vote Center, and provides technical and functional lead to assigned Vote Center Staff. Duties may include:

Disaster Service Workers:
Napa County employees automatically become Disaster Service Workers. This means that when Napa County experiences emergencies (earthquakes, wildfire, power outage, flood, etc.) you may be asked to pivot from your regular duties to provide critical services to those affected by the emergency (Cal. Gov. Code ยง 3102.)
