Job Description:

Purpose:

Uses comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to organize and manage the operations maintenance, regulatory compliance, and assets of the Water Meter Operations Division, which includes administration and oversight of enabling Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) software and systems for Austin Water.

Position Overview:

The Austin Water AMI Meter Services Division Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for Austin Water’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems and field operations. This role oversees a team responsible for meter installation, maintenance, and repair, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include managing policies, contracts, audits, and vendor performance, while leveraging AMI data analytics to drive efficiency and inform operational planning. The Division Manager directs budgeting, evaluates emerging technologies, and champions continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and achieve strategic goals. This position requires strong collaboration skills, political acumen, and the ability to build trust across stakeholders. Flexibility and sound judgment are essential for addressing field escalations and aligning priorities with organizational objectives.

Pay Range: $91,080.00 - $117,000.00 annually

Position(s) will be filled at the following location: Webberville Rd. Service Center ( 2600 Webberville Rd , Austin, TX 78702)

Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.However, flexibility is required, as the role will occasionally require work outside of regular business hours to address escalations as needed.
