The Fort Worth Fire Department is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Management Analyst to perform advanced analytical and financial research in support of executive leadership and strategic decision-making. This position leads complex data analysis and oversees long-term financial and strategic projects, providing critical insight into organizational priorities, including capital planning and resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial oversight, program compliance, and process improvement. This role requires the ability to analyze and manage financial transactions, capital funding, and operating budgets, and to translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. The position requires the capacity to work independently and collaboratively while building effective working relationships across departments and with senior stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications: - Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Budgeting, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field
- Four (4) years' experience in budget and financial management and research analysis
Preferred Qualifications: - Coursework or experience in governmental accounting, municipal budgeting, and contract compliance
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word skills
- Experience with ERP Financials
The Sr. Management Analyst job responsibilities include: - Oversee capital project funding, financial tracking, and compliance to ensure alignment with departmental priorities, approved budgets, and long-term capital plans
- Manage and coordinate long-term financial and strategic initiatives, including planning and analysis for fire facilities and vehicles
- Prepare high-level Mayor & Council communications, reports, and presentations related to capital and long-term financial planning
- Provide comprehensive oversight of capital projects, including project set up, funding allocation, expenditure tracking, reconciliation, and project close-out activities
- Conduct independent in-depth financial, operational, or policy analysis as requested by leadership, including ad hoc research to support strategic decision making
- Leads and/or supports special projects as assigned, often involving cross-departmental coordination, data analysis, and high-priority organization initiatives
- Maintain performance metrics to monitor department KPIs ensuring the department is meeting performance goals and milestones
