THIS POSITION MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME ONCE A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.

The General Landscaper will help assist in keeping the landscaping and overall appearance at all Denton County buildings and locations. This positions will be responsible for planting, digging, pulling weeds, and trimming trees and shrubs.

Examples of Duties

Engage horticultural best practices to manage the cultivation of the landscaping and grounds at all County Buildings.

Inspects locations after storms and high winds that may have caused damage to broken tree limbs or tree replacement.

Monitors of all county building grounds for insect and diseases weekly. Inspects the quality of the landscape purchases, such as sod grass, flowers or trees before they are actually planted, laid or replanted.

Maintains landscaping equipment and material.

Monitors all properties for irrigation damages/needs weekly.

Assists overseeing vendors and crews when working a job that may involve replacement of sod grass, trees, plants, flowers or bushes, when the Landscape Project Manager isn’t available.

Reports any problems or issues to the Project Landscape Manager.

Inspects and removes debris from ground daily.

Clears parking lot and sidewalk debris with a backpack blower.

Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required for this position and a minimum three years of experience in a related field.

Possession of a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver’s license within 90 days.
