ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Part-Time ITS Intern (Application Development or Project Management).

The Application Development Intern position will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Developing Technical Documentation for assigned projects
• Assisting in the maintenance of the department’s Change Management Database

The Project Management Intern position will be responsible for:

• Researching and gathering information about business systems, technologies and trends (these could be specific to our industry or otherwise).
• Maintaining and updating solution specific documentation as technology and systems evolve.
• Participating in requirements gathering and capturing user stories.
• Assisting with training end-users and creating relevant training materials. Use of videos and interactive media over documents.
• Undertaking tasks involved in the IT project management lifecycle.

We are looking for candidates with:

• A high level of enthusiasm, integrity, accuracy, and dependability.
• Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
• Understanding basic software architectures - single stack, 2-tier, 3-tier, cloud, hybrid, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, etc.
• Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Canva, etc.
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming.
• Familiarity with .NET Development with emphasis in MVC (or a similar programming paradigm) using C#.
• Basic understanding of relational database management systems

This recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in various areas of the ITS Service Center.

Please Note: Part-time employment will not lead to permanent employment. Part-time hourly employees are used to fill positions normally less than twenty (20) hours per week. Part-time employees do not receive benefits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a local student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Graduation from high school or equivalent.

• Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
