DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Management Analyst III develops, organizes, implements, monitors specific operational and maintenance activities. The analyst will support the Transportation & Drainage Operations in implementing process improvements, monitoring operational effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with operational regulations and policies.

Responsibilities:



o Serve as TDO administrator and subject matter expert

o Reviewing users report monthly to add or remove users

o Work with the Communication Specialist to develop monthly tips/tricks for distribution

o Review various system reports to ensure safety adherences

o Develop improvement recommendations for driving behavior and gain buy-in.

o Incorporate automated system notifications for vehicle incidents; search for trends/patterns

o Collaborate with vendor to effectively communicate concerns of the Service Line to ensure organizational needs are meet

o Utilize new or available technologies to create internal dashboard



o Present safety data (focus on significant incidents and trend analysis) during bimonthly meetings (six times per year) and incorporating Samsara where applicable

o Attend citywide safety meetings and notify management of any new developments



o Analyze data presented on Work Order Overdue Dashboard

o Review trends/patterns and suggest areas of improvement

o Follow up with management in areas such as Average completion time, total past due and past due detail

o Provide biweekly reports to management detailing citizen responses and explanations for pastdue items



o Assist in the development of operational SOPs to document intuitional knowledge regarding procedures and processes

o Improve customer service relations via assistance from TDO operational teams and optimizing TDO operational environments

o Creation of flow charts for documentation of workflow processes

o Analyzing overtime data for OQE staff and other special projects as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.

This is a Houston Public Works position at the Tier III Level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or a field directly related to the job.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four years of professional experience in accounting, budget analysis, finance, public administration or a field directly related to the job are required.

Substitutions
Experience cannot be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
A Master’s degree in a field directly related to the job may substitute for two years of the above experience requirement.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
