Job Summary

To act as a Resource Specialist at one or more school sites for the Santa Barbara County Education Office Special Education Program. Responsibilities include assessment, instruction and evaluation of identified Special Education students with a variety of learning disabilities. To act as the designated Chairperson of Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team meetings for the Santa Barbara County Education Office, Special Education Program, as assigned by a Coordinator of Special Education. Responsibilities include intake and monitoring of assigned annual and triennial reviews, and educational assessments.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential or willingness to pursue appropriate certification. This is a 1.0FTE assignment consisting of Resource Specialist 60% portion based in Santa Ynez Valley, servicing Ballard Elementary School District and Vista del Mar Union School District, along with IEP Team Chairperson 40% portion based in Santa Maria. Vacancy is for the 2026-2027 school year. Resource Specialist is based on 186-day salary schedule CE-A-186. IEP Team Chairperson is based on 190-day salary schedule CE-SE-190.
