ABOUT THE POSITION

Clark County Comprehensive Planning is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Director of Comprehensive Planning. This executive leader will plan, organize, and administer a comprehensive countywide planning program that delivers both current and long-range planning services to promote a vibrant economy, protect neighborhoods from incompatible development, reduce environmental impacts, and conserve natural resources. This position manages a broad, consolidated program of advanced and specialized planning and zoning functions. The successful candidate will work closely with elected and appointed officials, advisory boards, community stakeholders, and County leadership to develop policy and implement action plans that serve all residents.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in City, Regional, Transportation or Urban Planning, or a closely related field, AND six (6) years of full-time management experience in the urban planning field. Possession of an advanced degree in appropriate field is desirable. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
