The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office is responsible for attending court and conducting all local criminal prosecutions. The District Attorney is a State Constitutional Officer when prosecuting crimes defined under State Law. Additionally, the office provides legal advice to all law enforcement agencies and provides training programs for their personnel; thus, increasing the probability of successful prosecutions. The mission of the Office is to promote justice, ensure that the rights of victims are upheld by treating them with dignity, respect and compassion, and aggressively and fairly prosecute those who violate the law.

TheDistrict Attorney's Office is looking to hire an experienced and ethical Finance Manager II with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Overseeing and managing fiscal, billing, and grant accounting systems and the procedures to ensure the accuracy and quality of all financial operations within the department. This role also includes training and supervising professional, paraprofessional, technical, and/or clerical staff, as well as overseeing applications, budget administration, and compliance with state and federal laws affecting fiscal operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating the preparation and management of the budget and providing budgetary and fiscal guidance to the Department Head and management team.

The Eligible List established by this recruitment process may be used County-wide to fill current and future vacancies on a regular full-time, part-time, or temporary basis.

Education:
Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in Public or Business administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field with course work in accounting, finance and business administration.

Experience:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience performing a wide variety of duties related to fiscal resource management, including at least one year of significant administrative experience in public finance and accounting.
